MANDATE of DMR DMR was established to conduct mission oriented and innovative research on all aspects of mushrooms and act as the centre for academic excellence and repository of research on location specific problems of national importance to achieve higher production and productivity and transfer of technology and provide technical support to the mushroom industry as well as rural masses for poverty alleviation. The mandate of the DMR is:
To conduct basic, strategic and applied research for developing technologies to enhance productivity and utilization of all edible mushrooms
To act as a national repository of scientific information on edible mushrooms
To provide scientific leadership and coordinate network research with state agricultural universities for solving area specific problems of mushroom production.
To act as a centre for training in modern research methodologies and technology upgradation for production of mushrooms.
To provide consultancy in mushroom research and development.
